Resilience in Social Ecological Systems

The pace of environmental and social changes is accelerating and poses a serious challenge for societal adaptability throughout the world. Coastal and more general social-ecological resilience is key for future adaptation, transformation and mitigation so that human societies can be sustainable (environemntally, economically and socially).
